Female tech leaders took the spotlight at the Amdari Women in Tech Roundtable, addressing gender gaps, workplace inclusion, and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence.

Moderated by Omotola Awolusi, the event spotlighted trailblazers like cybersecurity expert Yetunde Olofinle, management consultant Busola Lofinmakin, data scientist Precious Ejiba, and Amdari co-founder Efemena Ikpro, who shared their journeys and visions for a more equitable tech landscape.

Precious Ejiba, a data scientist with a background in biomedical engineering, stole the spotlight with her insights on AI’s role in healthcare.

She showcased how artificial intelligence and data science are revolutionising patient care and dismantling gender disparities in both healthcare access and tech career opportunities.

Ejiba highlighted her pioneering diabetes data visualiser, which empowers users to monitor and predict health metrics, as a bridge between digital transformation and healthcare accessibility.

“AI can mitigate bias in hiring and improve patient self-management,” she told the audience, emphasizing its potential to reshape lives and systems.

Cybersecurity took centre stage with Yetunde Olofinle, who stressed the growing importance of her field in the digital economy.

“We need stronger representation of women in leadership roles within cybersecurity and tech governance,” she urged, pointing to the necessity of diverse perspectives in safeguarding technology’s future.

Meanwhile, Busola Lofinmakin brought a business lens to the table, illustrating how data-driven diversity initiatives can influence hiring policies and create leadership pathways for women.

“Strategic decision-making and business intelligence can shape a more inclusive future,” she noted.

Efemena Ikpro, co-founder of Amdari, tied the conversation to actionable change, detailing her organization’s mission to close the experience gap.

“We’re providing practical, hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring technologists,” she said, ensuring women and underrepresented groups acquire the skills needed to thrive in tech.
