Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday)


Summary

* We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team.
* The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, preparing financial statements, managing general ledger entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
* This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting principles.
* Conduct variance analysis and report any discrepancies or trends to senior management.
* Review and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

General Ledger Management:
* Over see general ledger (GL) entries and ensure proper account classification.
* Reconcile all general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
* Ensure proper allocation of costs to appropriate accounts and departments.

Cash Flow Management:
* Over see cash flow management and ensure efficient cash position for the company.
* Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities and report on aging

Tax & Compliance:
* Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
* Work with auditors during annual audits to ensure financial statements are prepared and ready for review.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant local, state, and national regulations.

Internal Controls:
* Design and implement internal control procedures to ensure financial integrity and mitigate risks.
* Review and improve accounting procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Prepare and monitor budgets, helping senior management with financial projections.
* Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts based on company needs and market conditions.
* Assist in improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency.


Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
* Professional certification (e.g.,ICAN, ACA,e.t.c) is required
* Minimum of 4 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxlaws, and financial regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g.,QuickBooks, SAP,SAGE, orERPsystems)
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.


Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 monthly.
