Job Title: Junior Collections Officer
Location: Lagos

Job Summary

* We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Loan Collection Officer to join our team.
* The ideal candidate should have strong interest in debt collection and possess strong communication and negotiation skills.
* You will be responsible for contacting defaulting customers, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding loans while maintaining professionalism and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

* Contact customers with overdue loan payments via phone calls, emails, SMS, and field visits (where necessary).
* Negotiate repayment plans and follow up to ensure adherence.
* Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions.
* Provide excellent customer service while enforcing repayment obligations.
* Escalate difficult cases to senior officers or management when necessary.
* Assist in preparing reports on collection performance and recovery rates.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.


Requirements & Skills

* HND/BSc in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
* Passionate about working in the capacity of a loan collection Officer
* Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
* Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
* Basic knowledge of loan recovery processes and regulations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with collection software is a plus.
* High level of integrity, persistence, and resilience


Preferred Attributes:

* Experience working in a microfinance bank, commercial bank, or fintech.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery targets.
