We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Legal and compliance Officer (Data Protection Officer)
Location: Ajah, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time


Key Responsibilities

Compliance Duties:
* Assist in monitoring and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements
* Support the preparation and submission of reports to regulatory authorities
* Monitor customer onboarding and KYC/AML processes to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards
* Maintain and update the compliance risk register
* Track regulatory developments and assist in internal awareness and training initiatives.

Data Protection Duties:
* Serve as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) under applicable laws
* Monitor data processing activities to ensure compliance with data protection legislation
* Conduct periodic privacy audits and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs)
* Respond to data subject access requests and support incident/breach response efforts
* Contribute to internal training and awareness campaigns on data privacy and security


Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Information Management, or related field
* 0-4 years of relevant work or internship experience in compliance, legal, data protection, or regulatory affairs
* Familiarity with fintech products, services, and regulatory landscape is a plus
* Basic understanding of data protection principles under NDPA and GDPR.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
