Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is looking to strengthen its workforce in Nigeria by recruiting an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our offshore operations team. If you have a strong background in HVAC maintenance within the oil & gas industry, we invite you to apply!


Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment including chillers, air handling units, compressors, ductwork, and control systems.
Diagnose faults and implement timely repairs of HVAC systems across accommodation modules, control rooms, equipment rooms, and technical areas.
Maintain refrigerant systems in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with OEM standards, maintenance plans, and HSE procedures.
Monitor HVAC system performance and propose continuous improvement actions for reliability and energy efficiency.
Lead or support HVAC interventions during shutdowns or major overhauls.
Supervise junior technicians and ensure quality workmanship during maintenance activities.
Prepare technical reports, work orders, and job feedback for CMMS.
Coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation) during multi-trade interventions.


Profile

Technical Diploma (Level 3 or higher) in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of HVAC maintenance experience in the oil & gas or industrial sector, including 2+ years in an offshore environment.
Experience with HVAC systems on FPSOs, platforms, or marine vessels is preferred.
Valid HVAC certification or equivalent recognized qualification.
Certification in handling refrigerants (FGAS, EPA Section 608, or equivalent).
Hands-on knowledge of HVAC fault-finding, ductwork systems, chillers, and controls.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in an offshore environment.
High safety awareness and strict adherence to HSE policies.
