LAGOS – The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), is planning a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ogun State.

A statement by ATPN on Thursday, said that Prince Adetunji Fadina, its President, led a high-level delegation to the ministry earlier in the week where he met with Chief Sesan Fagbayi, the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary, and Directors of the ministry to chart a new course for structured tourism development in the state.

In his remarks, Fadina said that the team was not in the state for a ceremonial visit, but for a purposeful mission.

According to him, the association was in the state to strengthen the foundation of Ogun State’s tourism economy, reinforce ethical and structured tourism management and establish a long-lasting partnership between ATPN and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

He expressed that the partnership with the state would focus on developing a well-structured tourism framework for sustainable growth, ensure full local government participation in tourism development, drive youth-led tourism innovation through the launch of the Idea Hangout Café in Ota and recogise the commissioner, permanent secretary and the directors as custodians of Ogun State’s tourism vision.

Besides, he emphasised that Ogun State was blessed with rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and natural attractions, but lamented that its full potential remained largely untapped due to the absence of a structured framework and sustainable tourism policies.
