Over 155 widows have benefitted from the Linus Idahosa Foundation for Empowerment in Igueben Local Government Area, Edo State.

The Igueben Widows Outreach, which was open to all widows in the community, provided vital economic support by equipping them with tools, resources, and financial assistance to boost self-reliance.

Founder of LIFE Africa, Linus Idahosa, said the non-profit organisation is dedicated to dignified and sustainable impact to equip widows with essential work tools, empowering them to build sustainable livelihoods.

He said, “These initiatives are about more than resources; they are about restoring dignity and creating growth opportunities. Every tool and project represents a step toward self-reliance and community transformation.

“The strength and resilience of these women are a testament to the indomitable spirit of Nigerians. Despite profound setbacks, they remain resolute in rebuilding their lives and contributing to their communities.

What we have done here with LIFE Africa goes towards building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria. I believe that when we invest in individuals, we ignite a cascade of transformation that ultimately creates a future where no one is left behind.”

The widows expressed gratitude for the programme, describing it as life-changing.

One of the beneficiaries said, “This is the first time anyone has done something like this for us. The tools and training we’ve received will help us build a better future.”

Another beneficiary said, “This support will allow me to provide for my children and give me hope for tomorrow.”
