Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to education policies that are designed to meet societal needs and equip students with practical skills to address real-world challenges.

Governor Oyebanji emphasised that his administration is strategically leveraging smart technology in education to help students develop essential skills, critical thinking, and creativity, enabling them to become effective solution providers.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, stated that the governor made these remarks while receiving a delegation from South Korea, led by the Koika Deputy Country Director, Mr. Baik Ki-Hyyn.

The delegation was in the state for an in-depth survey of the Smart School Project.

Oyebanji thanked the South Korean Government for the partnership, noting that his administration had made significant investments in education—not only for literacy and numeracy but also for human capital development, aimed at making citizens globally competitive.

The governor emphasised that the goal of his education policies is to ensure that graduates in Ekiti State are well-prepared to address contemporary challenges and contribute to the state’s and country’s overall development.

“We appreciate Koika for the partnership with UBEC that led to the establishment of smart schools in Ekiti State,” he said. “Education is our main industry. We are one of the most educated states in the country, and we have a responsibility to sustain that prime position.”
