A Patroness of Ekiti Queens FC, Dr. Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila, has pledged to donate N500,000, jerseys and boots to boost the teams campaign in the 2025 NWFL Super 6.

Jakande- Ajila, who is the current Chairman of Ekiti Sports Development Trust Fund, made the pledge while hosting the players and the technical crew at her residence in Ado-Ekiti.

She said that the donation was proof of her commitment to the success of the team both on and off the pitch.

Jakande-Ajila added that her contributions was to support Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s efforts in sports development in Ekiti.

She advised the players to prioritise education, as well as skills and trade to secure their future beyond football.

“I want to urge all of you as female players to be disciplined, embrace self respect in handling interactions with the opposite gender and acquire quality education.

” Don’t focus only on football, be committed to other areas such as trading, acquiring other skills that can fetch money for you,” she said.

The patroness commended the Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba, for her dedication to promoting grassroot sport development.

Appreciating her kind gesture, Ekiti Queens Captain, Seun Fakunle, on behalf of the team thanked Jakande-Ajila for her rare commitment to supporting the club.

Fakunle said many wealthy individuals overlook grassroot sports and face politics for their personal gains.

She said the team has also taken note of Osetoba’s unwavering love and backing, and in response, they are fully determined to make her proud by securing a spot in the NWFL Super 6.

Also speaking, Osetoba thanked Dr. Jakande-Ajila for aligning her efforts with the governor’s vision on sports development.
