The Chancellor of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, has urged fresh graduates from the institution not to give up on the country but rather see themselves as change-makers that Nigeria needs to get to its promised land.

Adedoyin urged the fresh graduates to follow the examples of other irrepressible Nigerian youths, who have refused to be overwhelmed by the country’s challenges but are making waves in technology on the global stage.

The renowned industrialist, who clocked 89 in December, gave the advice on Friday at Trinity University’s third convocation ceremony, where 122 students graduated with 28 of them bagging first class honours across different departments.

While expressing confidence in the future of Nigeria and the youths, the varsity chancellor said, “I urge you to remember that Nigeria’s future is bright and that the possibilities are endless. Young Nigerians are making waves globally, achieving feats that inspire and motivate us. From innovative tech startups to groundbreaking scientific discoveries, our youth are proving that they have what it takes to succeed on the world stage.

“You must continue along this trajectory, projecting your family name and the name of your university. I challenge you to be the change-makers, the leaders, and the innovators that Nigeria needs.

“Don’t be discouraged by the challenges we face as a nation; instead, see them as opportunities to make a difference. Trinity University has given you the foundation. You have the skills, the knowledge, and the passion to drive positive change and make a difference.”

At the convocation, the university conferred an honorary doctorate in business and management on the President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria, Dipo Ajayi.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, said Ajayi was selected for the honour because of his humanitarian service and his commitment to professionalism.

He stressed that the university understood the importance of partnership with Ajayi while urging him to use his wealth of experience for the betterment of the institution.
