The Founder of Linus Idahosa Foundation for Empowerment (LIFE Africa), Mr Linus Idahosa, has said his outreach and empowerment programme for widows is helping to restore human dignity and also creating economic opportunities for the beneficiaries.

This is just as beneficiaries have poured encomium on the organisation for the impact being made on their lives.

LIFE Africa recently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to empowering underserved communities through a life-changing outreach for widows in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. LIFE Africa, a non-profit organisation dedicated to dignified and sustainable impact, equipped widows with essential work tools, empowering them to build sustainable

livelihoods.

“These initiatives are about more than resources; they are about restoring dignity and creating growth opportunities,” said Idahosa.

“Every tool and project represents a step toward self-reliance and community transformation.”

“The strength and resilience of these women are a testament to the indomitable spirit of Nigerians. Despite profound setbacks, they remain resolute in rebuilding their lives and contributing to their communities. What we have done here with LIFE Africa goes towards building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria. I believe that when we invest in individuals, we ignite a cascade of transformation that ultimately creates a future where no one is left behind,” he reflected.

The Igueben Widows’ Outreach, opened to all widows in the community, provided vital economic support by equipping them with tools, resources, and financial assistance to foster self-reliance.

Over 155 widows received essential items such as sewing machines, grinders, cooking utensils, and gas cylinders — empowering them to start or expand income-generating activities.

The widows expressed gratitude for the programme, describing it as life-changing.
