Former Big Brother Naija housemate and Nollywood actress Bamike Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, has described the entertainment industry as a battlefield, emphasizing the resilience needed to thrive.

In an interview with Punch, the reality TV star stated that the industry is not for the weak, adding that her strong relationship with God has been her anchor.

Despite the challenges, she remains determined to make a lasting impact, tackle industry hurdles, and earn global recognition for her craft.

“The entertainment industry is like a battlefield. It is not for the faint-hearted or weak. What has sustained me is my relationship with God. I am an embodiment of His mercy and favor. Our industry is saturated with many fantastic female actors, but blockbuster movies are limited. There’s a bias towards familiar faces, so you never know when you’ll be the one they call for a chance,” she said.

BamBam revealed her aspirations to contribute meaningfully to Nollywood, aiming for global awards like the Oscars and advocating for more collaboration between Hollywood and Nollywood.

She also expressed her desire to train and star in action films, do voiceovers for animations, and establish her own film academy.

The actress, who recently starred in Omoni Oboli’s latest film, Love in Every Word, recounted a profound moment on set when she and her colleagues helped save a suicidal woman.

“Myself, the cast, and crew allowed ourselves to be used by God to save a woman who nearly killed herself. It happened during this production. We all came together, praying, speaking to her, and pacifying her. Watching how Nigerians united to reach out to domestic violence support services and get the Lagos ambulance to help was heartwarming,” she added.
