Arsenal star, Ethan Nwaneri, who is being courted by both Nigeria and England, is one of the young players tipped to be included in the Three Lions’ Manager, Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Latvia and Albania on March 21 and 24 respectively.

Tuchel will name his first squad today as the Three Lions prepare for the start of World Cup qualifying series. Nwaneri, Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Elliott Anderson, according to the BBC, are the wildcards tipped race for selection as Tuchel begins his reign as England’s boss.

Nwaneri recently announced that he will play for the first country that approaches him to represent them and if picked and featured in any of the matches, it means he will no longer be eligible to play for Nigeria.

According to the BBC, Tuchel has spoken to more than 55 players on the phone over the past few weeks, with English FA chief Mark Bullingham describing the move as the gaffer’s way of “building connections.”
Arsenal’s exciting 17-year-old Nwaneri has scored eight goals in 30 games in his debut season, and is attracting high praise from pundits, team-mates and his manager, Mikel Arteta.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently said that it was working on the boy, whose parents are Nigerians, but he was not included in Eric Chelle’s squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers, giving room to speculations that he either turned down Super Eagles’ overtures or that the NFF has not approached him.
