The West African Youth Congress (WAYC) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu and the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS),Gen.Chris Musa for their strategic efforts in combating terrorism, leading to an unprecedented decline in terrorist activities in Nigeria.

The group in a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Amb. Mohammed Ahmed Marafa, lauded President Tinubu’s leadership and unwavering commitment to national security, adding that his administration has prioritized intelligence-driven operations to curb insecurity.

The group praised Malam Nuhu Ribadu’s strategic approach to counterterrorism, which has fostered inter-agency collaboration and intelligence-sharing among security operatives.

WAYC commended the Chief of Defense Staff and the Nigerian military for their dedication and patriotism in safeguarding the nation.

While they acknowledged the critical role security agencies play in ensuring stability,WAYC emphasized that insecurity remains a major impediment to national development, with young people being the most affected.

“President Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to addressing the nation’s security challenges have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.The appointment of Malam Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser is once more commendable for bringing strategic leadership to the forefront of Nigeria’s security efforts.”

“Under the coordination of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, security agencies have demonstrated unprecedented synergy and intelligence-sharing capabilities that have proven crucial in dismantling terrorist networks across the region. Nuhu Ribadu’s methodical approach to national security, drawing from his extensive experience in law enforcement, has revitalized counterterrorism operations and established a comprehensive framework that addresses both the immediate threats and the root causes of insecurity.”

“Insecurity is the primary factor against development, and young people are always mostly at the receiving end of terrorism and insecurity. As a youth based organization, we recognize the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform and are grateful for their unwavering resolve to defend our great nation.We reaffirm our commitment to supporting initiatives that foster peace, security, and development across West Africa,” he said.
