The management of Ambrose Alli University, Edo State, has dismissed claims by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party that Governor Monday Okpebholo has failed to fulfil his N500 million monthly subvention pledge to the institution.

In a statement on Friday, the state PDP Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, alleged that the state government had yet to release the promised funds for three months.

He also claimed that staff salaries for February remained unpaid, fueling discontent within the university.

Additionally, he accused the administration of reinstating staff previously indicted for misconduct, including sexual harassment, examination malpractice, and certificate racketeering.

However, the institution’s Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information and Public Relations, Mike Aladenika, said Nehikhare’s statement lacks substance and facts.

He said, “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t respond to such politicised issues, but we must set the record straight.

“There’s no truth in the author’s claims. One would expect the author to have sought information from relevant government agencies, utilizing the Freedom of Information Act.
