It stated that the operatives apprehended the suspect, a 48-year-old member of a 4-man robbery gang, on Monday at 8 p.m., near MKO Abiola Garden, in the Ojota area of the state.

“RRS apprehended a member of a 4-man ‘one chance’ gang and recovered a Toyota Camry 1999 model belonging to the gang members.

“The suspect was apprehended while holding in their car a female victim the gang had earlier abducted at Allen Roundabout, Ikeja.

“The victim was tricked into the gang’s vehicle around 7 p.m. on Monday on the pretext that the vehicle was heading towards Mowe-Ibafo.

“The gang thereafter told the victim to cooperate while they tried to collect her phone and belongings,” it stated.

According to the statement, the suspects were changing the vehicle’s flat tyre when the RRS operatives on patrol stopped to check out what was going on.

“Three members of the gang fled while the said member was arrested,” the RRS added.

The RRS said that its operatives rescued the victim whom the gang members had severely tortured to subdue her into releasing her mobile phones and other details.

According to the RRS, the suspect along with the vehicle has been transferred to the Lagos State Command, Ikeja and SCID, Panti for further investigations.
