The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals, including a 50-year-old bandit and two informants, in a series of operations aimed at tackling insecurity across the state.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters in Gusau.

Among those arrested is Ibrahim Mohammed, a 50-year-old suspected bandit from Maru Local Government Area. Others are two informants, a suspected gun runner, and five additional suspects linked to various criminal activities.

Abubakar said the arrests followed credible intelligence provided by members of the public.

Items recovered from the suspects include assorted rifles, a stolen ATM card, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and a Toyota Corolla vehicle.

The police spokesman reiterated the command’s commitment to intensifying efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and restore peace to affected communities.
