A deadly attack occurred on Thursday evening along the Gusau-Tsafe road in Zamfara State as bandits blocked the highway near Kucheri Bridge in Tsafe Local Government Area.

According to a post shared on Friday by security analyst Bakatsine on X, the attackers set a commercial bus on fire with passengers still inside.

Many people, including women and children, were killed in the incident, while several others sustained injuries.

In the same attack, the bandits hijacked two other vehicles and abducted all the passengers on board.

“Yesterday evening, bandits blocked Gusau-Tsafe way near Kucheri Bridge, Tsafe LGA. A bus was attacked, set ablaze with passengers inside, many killed, including women and children. Several injured. Two other vehicles were hijacked and passengers abducted,” Bakatsine wrote.

The exact number of those kidnapped remains unclear.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
