The spokesman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has declared that Nigeria’s politics can be salvaged through politics.

Abdullahi said Nigeria’s problems were created through bad politics, and only good politics through the ADC would solve these issues.

He disclosed this on Arise Television’s Morning Show while reacting to claims that the ADC was filled with old politicians.

According to Abdullahi: “We are convinced that the problem Nigeria is facing is political and can be saved through politics. If bad politics has got us this way, then it’s good politics that can get us out of it.”

“It’s politicians that created the problems, and it’s them that will solve it.”

“Now, talking about the same old people, like I said yesterday, those same old people, yes, what do we do? Do we manufacture new politicians in offices overnight? Do we bring foreigners to contest elections? It’s the same old people.”

“So we build a political party that can create roles and systems that ensure that people behave in a particular way.”

“In the First Republic, not everybody that participated was a saint. In the Second Republic, not everybody was a saint. But the point is that we had the UPN, and even the worst governor knew that the least you could do was to ensure free education in your state. Where are those parties?”

“We have found ourselves in a situation where all the presidents, governors, and whoever is elected on the platform of political parties have become the lords and masters of those parties.”

“So for us, can we build new political parties out of that situation? And the government has helped.”
