A farmer has been killed and another injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen in Taraba State.

The incident happened on Wednesday around 1:05 p.m. in Mongadoso community, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

According to a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Thursday, the two victims were returning from their farm when they were ambushed by the attackers.

The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Sylvester Ojuku, while the injured victim, Skina Daniel, suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg.

“Security forces were quickly dispatched to the scene after the attack but found that the attackers had already fled.

“The victims were taken to a nearby primary health care hospital, where Ojuku was confirmed dead, and Daniel is currently receiving medical treatment,” Makama wrote.
