Stakeholders and political appointees from Igede Ekiti in Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government area of Ekiti State have lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s development strides in the state.

They said that the governor’s “achievements, people-centered governance and commitment to inclusive prosperity across Ekiti State have made a second term in office an imperative for him.”

The Igede Ekiti Stakeholders and Political Office Holders, according to a statement made available on Sunday by the Chairman, Ekiti State Hospital Management Board, Dr Austin Ibikunle, and the Chairman, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Gbenga Oluwatuyi, spoke during their monthly meeting in Igede Ekiti.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed July 20, 2026 for the governorship election in Ekiti State.

Ibikunle and Oluwatuyi stated that the group aligned itself with “the goals of the ‘Prosperity 2026’ campaign, which encapsulates the vision for sustained growth and transformative development in Ekiti State under Oyebanji’s leadership”.

While formally declaring support for the governor’s re-election in next year’s governorship election in the state, the group stated, “This is more than an endorsement. It is a clarion call for continuity – a call to deepen the gains of the past years under Governor Oyebanji and to chart a greater path toward collective prosperity in Ekiti State”.

The statement disclosed that the group would formally celebrate and solidify the endorsement at a grand event scheduled for June 19, 2025 in Igede-Ekiti, adding, “The gathering will bring together party members, grassroots mobilisers, community leaders, and supporters from across the region.

“In a powerful display of loyalty and unity, political appointees and key stakeholders from Igede-Ekiti have declared our firm endorsement of Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office, signalling momentum for the continuity movement.
