As the 2025 Anambra State governorship campaign kicks off on Wednesday, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has said he is optimistic that his achievements would secure him victory in the November 8, 2025 election.

The governor also said he was ready to showcase his achievements throughout the campaign.

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday announced June 11 as the official commencement date for the election campaigns, which must end at midnight on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

The commission also released the final list of candidates for the election, noting that 16 political parties met the submission deadline of May 12, 2025, and would participate in the poll.

In a statement issued by its National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, the commission said the list was compiled following the conclusion of candidate substitution processes and the verification of personal particulars submitted by political parties.

Speaking with Sunday PUNCH, Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said the governor was ready for the campaign, adding that his achievements would speak for him.

“He is going to campaign and he will campaign based on the massive achievements he has recorded. If you have been to Anambra State lately, you will see that there have been so many monumental strides that he has recorded,” he said.

Soludo emerged as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, returning unopposed by no fewer than 3,260 delegates of the party during its primary conducted at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, in April.

However, Aburime said his principal believed President Bola Tinubu won’t interfere in the Anambra election because he is a democrat.

“The President is a democrat, and he will allow everything to go freely. He has also acknowledged the fact that Soludo has done well. So, he will allow everything to go according to the law. I don’t see any undue influence coming from the federal government. The central government will be neutral in the upcoming poll,” Aburime said.
