Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has donated N100 million to wounded soldiers and families of those killed in action, while urging the military to deal decisively with anyone collaborating with terrorists.

Zulum made the appeal during a joint Sallah luncheon organised by the Chief of Army Staff at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri on Saturday.

He said, “To me, the collaborators are more deadly than the terrorists, so anyone found guilty of collaborating with the terrorists, even if it is a woman or a public figure, should be dealt with ruthlessly.”

He thanked the armed forces for their commitment and bravery in combating terrorism in the state and the North East region.

The governor, while presenting the cheque to the Theatre Commander, Joint Taskforce, North East Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdussalam Abubakar, stated that each of the wounded soldiers in action would be given N500,000, while the remaining amount would be distributed among families left by the soldiers killed in action

Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for the military in its efforts to end terrorism in the region.

In his remarks, the Theatre Commander assured the governor that the military remained committed to sustaining peace across the region.
