Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Saturday, received a high-powered delegation of Islamic clerics who paid him a Sallah homage in celebration of the Eid al-Fitr festival.

The delegation, comprising prominent Kaduna-based clerics, was led by, the Chief Imam of Al-Manar Mosque, Dr. Tukur Adam.

Speaking during the visit, Adam commended the Governor for implementing people-centred policies that, according to him, have brought relief to the common man in the state.

“Islam enjoins Muslims to pay homage to their leaders during festive periods—after visiting their parents, traditional rulers, and Islamic clerics.

“We pray that Allah continues to guide the Governor on the right path. His administration has brought about peace and development,” he said.

The clerics also acknowledged improvements in security and governance under the current administration.

“Property owners no longer fear demolition. Plot owners are no longer worried about arbitrary revocation of their titles. Workers do not live in fear of sudden dismissal,” said the Chief Imam of Maiduguri Road Mosque, Professor Yahya Mujahid.

In addition to commendations, the delegation presented requests and policy suggestions.

The Chief Imam of Costain Quarters Mosque, Sheikh Saleh Yakubu, urged the governor to revive the Attaisir Development Foundation, which previously trained at-risk children involved in crime.

“It has now stopped functioning,” Yakubu said. “If resuscitated, it will help reduce the incidence of phone snatching, burglary, and petty crimes that are becoming rampant.”

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Nagwamatse Road Mosque, Sheikh Abubakar Sadiq, called on the governor to address pending complaints from some former civil servants who were retired under the previous administration but have yet to receive their entitlements.

Responding, the governor expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the delegation of his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.

“I seek your prayers and support in my efforts to maintain peace and bring development to all sections of Kaduna State,” he said.

The governor also promised to look into the issues raised and work toward addressing them within the limits of available resources.
