Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of a fire incident that ravaged a residential building in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at House 10 Avocado Crescent, Akuru Hassan Block, Unity Estate Elebu, in Ibadan.

Our correspondent reports that Elebu is one of the communities in Ido Local Government Area of the state.


The incident, according to sources, occurred Monday afternoon.

It was learnt that the fire ravaged some rooms in the private residential building of twins flat.

It was learnt that properties worth millions of naira were affected in the inferno.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the development in a statement.

The statement was made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

Akinwande, in the statement, said that the fire affected some rooms in the residential building.

“The distressed call was reported at exactly 15:09hrs on Monday, 2nd June, 2025. No casualty was recorded but the fire severely affected the building. The fire was as a result of electric sparks from the Air Conditioning system.”
