Portugal coach, Roberto Martinez, has said the national team’s legendary attacker, Cristiano Ronaldo, has no plan to retire from playing football.

He said this ahead of his team’s UEFA Nations League semi-final clash with Germany.

Ronaldo, 40, netted 35 goals for Al-Nassr in all competitions this season.


Ronaldo has also scored five goals in five games for Portugal in the ongoing Nations League.

Martinez made the comments to Sport TV, ahead of the quarterfinal game against hosts Germany which comes up in Munich on Wednesday.

Speaking about the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus attacker’s retirement plans, the Spaniard said, “It’s like talking about the weather.

“Everyone has an opinion. No one has a plan, not even Cristiano himself.”

The coach, however, made it clear nobody is a guaranteed starter, including Ronaldo.
