The Old Boys Association of St. Gregory’s College has unveiled a new executive to foster unity and strengthen the bonds among Gregorians across the globe.

In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the association, Ayodele Adewale and made available to PUNCH Online on Thursday, while commending the new executives, Adewale disclosed that the newly elected executives is headed by Mr. Francis Kudayah as president.

In his acceptance speech, Kudayah emphasised a mission of reconciliation, inclusivity, and dynamic leadership.

He said, “This is a call to rebuild, reconcile, and renew, the challenges we’ve faced have only strengthened our resolve. Our focus will be on unity, increasing engagement across generations, and implementing reforms that will serve both our local and diaspora members.”

Kudayah further urged younger members to contribute their voices, promising that their contributions would not be ignored.

“You are the future, and your involvement is essential to our present and our path forward,” he assured.

Francis Danmola Auditor.

Among prominent figures, present at the event was Dr. John Abebe, a former President of SGCOBA, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Tunji Alapini, and other distinguished Old Boys.

Established on March 12, 1882, at Igbosere, Lagos, as St. Gregory’s Grammar School. It was later relocated to South-West Ikoyi on January 27, 1928, and renamed St. Gregory’s College.

The institution has produced many of Nigeria’s most influential leaders.

Including late Chief Antonio Deinde Fernandez, Cardinal Olubunmi Okojie, late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Aalafin of Oyo, late Justice Adetokunbo Ademola, former CJN., Justice Ayo Irikefe, former CJN., Justice Basil Adedipe, former Justice of the Lagos High Court., Chief M.A. Majekodunmi, founder of St. Nicholas Hospital and former Administrator of Western Nigeria.

Pa Okufi, former rector of Yaba College of Technology, Sir. Alfonso Bamidele Abiodun Obilana, former Director of Operations Currency at the Central Bank of Nigeria and life patron of Eyo Badulaye, Sir. Victor Efosa Uwaifo MON is a renowned Nigerian musician, writer, sculptor, and former Honorable Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism.

Dr. Horatio Oluyomi MacGregor, Surveyor, the Onipopo of Popo-Aguda and former Chairman Board of Governors St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association, Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour CFR, Nigerian jurist and former justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria., Chief Joseph Olushola Macgregor, founding member of League of Gregorians ’57, Chief Debo Akande SAN

Mr. Steve Oransaye, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation , Chief Akin Ajayi, a prominent entrepreneur., Chief Babatunde St. Matthew Daniel, Mr. Bishop George George Amu, Sir. Steve Omojafor, former Chairman of Zenith Bank, and Dr. Ogunkelu, former Health Minister.

Chief Francis Awogbore, founder of Ark Insurance Brokers, and Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, among others.
