A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kano, Musa Kwankwaso, has stated that former Political Adviser to Vice President Kashim Shettima, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, and staunch opposition figure, Buba Galadima, cannot prevent the North from re-electing President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Kwankwaso, reacting to Baba-Ahmed and Galadima’s criticisms of President Tinubu’s administration, said the two politicians had lost their relevance and were frustrated.

He asserted that they “lack moral courage” to comment on the President’s governance, describing them as having “nothing to offer.”

“The two personalities lack moral courage to talk about the Tinubu administration because they lack the moral rectitude to do so,” Kwankwaso said.

Kwankwaso, who serves as the Executive Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, accused Baba-Ahmed of being among those who “allegedly cheated the North through their long service in government,” but have nothing to show for their time in office.

He added that Baba-Ahmed’s attempts to defend the North are baseless.

“Baba-Ahmed is among those who allegedly cheated the North by their long service in governments but have nothing to show as their contributions to the region they are today so called defending,” he said.

On Galadima, Kwankwaso described him as “the worst northern politician who cannot even show the location of his ballot box in Yobe State.”

He accused Galadima of being a “parasite” who had leached off various political figures without contributing anything substantial.

“All his years with General Buhari, what did he contribute? Instead, he was so parasitic that Buhari only won elections when Galadima deserted him. He did the same to Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, and now he is with Kwankwaso. Therefore, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso should be wary of him if he wants to make it in life,” he said.

Kwankwaso also pointed out the contrast between his contributions to the North and those of Galadima.

He emphasised his work in the maritime industry, stating that he had tangible contributions to show for his efforts.

In contrast, he claimed that Galadima failed to act when the North required vital projects like river dredging for economic growth.

“All his years in the maritime industry, what did he do? He had nothing to show to the North as his contribution to the growth of the region, even though during his time Arewa needed the dredging of Rivers for economic growth but he did nothing,” he said.

“President Bola Tinubu has brought serious development to the North in less than two years of his administration,” Kwankwaso stated, pointing to major infrastructural projects such as the Kano-Abuja road and the Badagry to Kebbi road network.

He further highlighted the administration’s achievements in reducing the prices of food and essential commodities.

“There is no gainsaying that food and other essential commodities prices are coming down, and Nigerians can now afford to buy. But did you hear Buba Galadima or Hakeem Baba-Ahmed commenting on this? No, they are just blind critics who have nothing to offer,” Kwankwaso said.

Kwankwaso credited President Tinubu’s decision to grant duty-free importation of essential goods to business moguls like BUA for the drop in prices.

He also mentioned the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas in the North, noting that stations are opening in states like Borno, Kaduna, and Kwara, with Kano set to follow suit.

“Today Rolling Energy Company is amplifying the growth of CNG almost all over Nigeria, and with which instead of buying fuel of over N100,000 one can now use CNG with very little money to travel around. And in the North, CNG stations are almost all over the region with the Government putting it in Borno, Kaduna, Kwara and Kano would also soon have their own,” Kwankwaso said.

He asserting that northerners would not heed the criticisms of Baba-Ahmed, Galadima, or former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, due to their lack of contributions to the region.

“Let me say this, whether they like it or not, Bola Tinubu will win his second term and win the entire North with a landslide victory, because Nigerians appreciate the Government’s transformative agenda which has started yielding results,” Kwankwaso declared.
