The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State, Jude Ezenwafor, has called for more pragmatic action and political will to restore decaying morals among the youth, especially during the Easter celebration.

In his Easter message, delivered through a press statement on Sunday, Ezenwafor said all hands must be on deck to revive Christian values among the people and guide children along the path of holiness.

He encouraged Christians to reflect on the significance of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for the redemption of sins and called for a holistic approach to restoring moral values, virtues, and faith.
He said,

“There is a need for more pragmatic action and political will to restore decaying morals in the lives of our youths, especially during the Easter celebration. All hands must be on deck to restore our Christian values and guide our children on the path of holiness as we celebrate Easter today.

“We urge Christian leaders to continue praying for the security of ndi Anambra, both at home and in the diaspora. May God protect the lives of our people, especially in this period of insecurity.

“We encourage ndi Anambra to remain hopeful. The death of our Lord Jesus Christ has brought us hope, salvation, and redemption from our sins.

“Our daily lives are a testament to what God has freely offered humanity. We should be grateful to Him for giving us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and offer us everlasting life after our earthly journey.”

The governorship hopeful noted that he has continued to identify with the Christian community since the beginning of the Lenten season.

He appealed to all Christians to remain steadfast in their daily struggles and not lose faith, adding, “We should trust in God, our Maker, and reflect on the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with sobriety.”

He also urged the people to show generosity to those in dire need, especially the less privileged in society, in order to give them a sense of belonging during the Easter celebration.

“The mandate of ndi Anambra is secure under my leadership. I wish ndi Anambra well and ask for their continued support for my governorship ambition to reposition the state. We appreciate your support and cooperation, and we will not take it for granted,” he added.
