The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Mr Reuben Izeze, has announced the commencement of the 2025 bursary for 220 indigenes of Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

The 2025 edition of the Izeze Bursary Scheme underscores the commissioner’s continued commitment to educational support, with an expanded number of slots for deserving indigenous students from Ughievwen Kingdom.

Announcing on behalf of the Principal of the scheme on Thursday, the Secretary of the Izeze Bursary Board, Mr Ejekanshe Matthew, said that this year’s edition will accommodate 220 students, marking a 10% increase from the previous year.

He said, “The bursary is open to Ughievwen indigenes currently enrolled in higher institutions of learning. However, applicants must be in their second year (200 level or ND II) and above, and maintain a GPA/CGPA of at least 2.5. First-year students are not eligible.

The bursary forms are available free of charge on the Ughievwen WhatsApp platform or can be obtained by contacting any of the following representatives via WhatsApp:

“Applicants are required to print and complete the form and submit it along with a copy of their School ID card and Local Government of Origin certificate, either by scanning or snapping the documents and sending them to any of the contacts listed.”

He stated further that applications would be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the deadline for submission is Thursday, 15th May 2025.
