Infinix Tech Cloud Limited and Enluka Consultancy Services in collaboration with the Admiralty University of Nigeria have unveiled a student information desk at the school campus.

The duo disclosed this at a training workshop on Tuesday at the university campus in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The resource person, the Chief Technology Officer of ITC and Enluka Consult, Mr. Taiwo Akinosho, who took the staff of the Information, Communication and Protocol Unit of the Admiralty University of Nigeria through the ICT training at a one-day workshop on Tuesday at Ibusa, said the desk was to solve students and management issues.

Akinosho said the theme of the 2025 workshop, ‘Building a Digital Information Ecosystem for Effective University Management and Public Relations’ was apt at this point.

He said, “We build professional applications and products for organizations. So we are here to showcase the student information management system.

“We realize that this is one of the things we don’t take as critical in this environment. And we realize that when you go to foreign universities, students can communicate seamlessly with the school management.

“There are things that can reduce the school’s standing, the school’s rating because you want students to be able to communicate with the management and fix their problems and get results within say 30 minutes or within a day.

“Now if there is no mechanism for this

to happen, you end up having a situation where there will be a break in communication, and even the management won’t know what the issues are because they are not even getting to know this.

“But it is something we do in Nigeria very often. For now, with the advent of software as a service, they don’t even need to spend so much money to get these things done, you can always get it in the cloud and just offer it to them.

“The objective of this training is to showcase a product that is called the student information desk and also to understand what digital transformation challenges they are having.

“We’re partnering with ADUN, you know,

we’re going to look at options like the subscription service, where it’s going to be based on pay-per-student.”

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo commended the partners for bringing the initiative to the school.

Represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Rear Admiral Mohamed Abdullahi, the VC said the university was happy for the opportunity that came to it at no cost.

He urged participants to pay attention to every detail of this workshop, noting that there is no end to learning.

In his welcome address, the Information/Protocol Officer of ADUN, Mr Kotor Esiri said the importance of information communication and protocol cannot be over emphasized in the day-to-day running of a 21st century university management system.

He said the university had decided to come up with the capacity workshop to enable the staff to have a more robust knowledge of the ecosystem as it affects the effective university management and public relations.
