Benue State Deputy Governor, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, has extended his condolences to the residents of Asa II in the Otukpo Local Government Area of the state over the spate of violent killings in the area.

He visited the family of the late Akatu Onche, a retired comptroller of Immigration, who was tragically murdered by unknown gunmen in his home on Monday.

The violent attacks occurred around 7:45 pm, resulting in the death of Mr. Onche and the abduction of three other individuals, including a couple, from his home.

Prior to his visit to the affected communities, Dr. Ode held a closed-door meeting with the paramount ruler of the Idoma Nation, HRM Agabaidu Elaigwu John Odogbo, along with Otukpo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Maxwell Ogiri, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Musa Ujor, Gubernatorial Liason Officer to the Governor of Benue State in charge of Otukpo, Hon Agbo Uloko and security chiefs from the Army, Police, Civil Defence and DSS at the Och’Idoma’s palace.

He charged the security agencies on behalf of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr Hyacin Alia to bring the security challenges in the town under control.
